Abstract

The research objective conducted synthetic processing for 1,2,3,4-tetrazole compounds beginning from sulfadiazine as the core substance. The initial step began with synthesizing the new azo compound designated as (A). Absolute ethanol served as the reaction medium for obtaining Schiff base derivatives A1 through A4 by mixing compound A with four different aromatic aldehydes, vanillin and p-hydroxybenzaldehyde and p-chlorobenzaldehyde and p-nitrobenzaldehyde. The third step included the diazotization reaction of 4-amino-N-(2Himidazol- 2-yl) benzenesulfonamide along with 4-nitroaniline which resulted in formation of intermediates B1 and B1. The solution containing diazonium salts reacted with sodium azide and ethyl acetoacetate along with acetylacetone. One of the two obtained intermediate structures (B1 and B1) reacted through 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition with Schiff bases (A1–A4) inside dimethylformamide to create the 1,2,3,4-tetrazole derivatives (C, D, E, and F).
